The Carnegie Singers are preparing for a spectacular summer showcase, Saturday Night at the Movies, taking place on Saturday, 4th July 2026, at 7:00 PM. Hosted at the Moorclose Theatre on Needham Drive, tickets are available on the door for £12, and kids go free.

The evening will begin with a powerful opening by Sethera Brass, and the audience can look forward to a Disney montage by Teth3ra Strings. Solo performers Sophie Mills and Marcus Coupe will add their stunning voices to the showcase of movie songs chosen for the choir to perform. The setlist includes pieces from Harry Potter, James Bond, The Omen and many more. The men of the choir will also be taking the stage to perform "No Hopers, Jokers and Rogues" from Fisherman's Friends, accompanied by Alex Clarke on accordion.

Behind the scenes everyone has been working tirelessly preparing for the performance. Promotional material, sponsors, venue details, musicians, raffle prizes — all had to be co-ordinated and organised. With rehearsals scheduled for Friday and Saturday before the main event, the choir has just three rehearsals left until they are performance ready.

Saturday also marks a special occasion — it's Linda's birthday. Perhaps the choir have been secretly rehearsing a "Happy Birthday" performance to celebrate, wink wink!

The event will feature a raffle with some brilliant prizes, so attendees are encouraged to bring cash to buy tickets at the door. Parkway Cinemas has generously donated two giant bags of popcorn for the audience to enjoy.
