If you fancy the pictures but don't fancy the price, or the drive, this one's for you. Rosehill at Moresby is now showing films in the evenings, and every ticket's £6.
They've been doing relaxed Friday morning screenings for a while, and these are extra. The evening ones are run like a proper cinema, with the lights down, no subtitles and no interval. The bar's open before, so you can grab a drink and some snacks.
First up is Pressure, a 15, with Andrew Scott, Brendan Fraser and Kerry Condon, on Wednesday 21 October at 7pm. It's about Eisenhower and his weatherman, Captain James Stagg, in the 72 hours before D-Day. Then there's a new Sense and Sensibility on Thursday 29 October at 7pm, or Friday 23 October at 11am if mornings suit you better. The Uprising, about the 14th-century revolt behind the Robin Hood stories, is on Thursday 19 November, and Ghosts: The Possession of Button House, from the BBC series, is on Wednesday 25 November, both at 7pm. Bad Apples, a dark comedy with Saoirse Ronan, is on the list as well.
They're still showing the big theatre, opera and ballet nights too, from National Theatre Live and the Royal Ballet and Opera. Coming up are Golden Boy, Giant, Macbeth, Carmen and The Nutcracker.
