Shoppers stopped to watch as the choir spontaneously performed songs from their upcoming concert. The men appeared first and began with a song from Fisherman's Friends, followed by a solo performance of I Have a Dream. Then the rest of the ladies appeared out of the gathered crowd, and they all sang Thank You for the Music. It certainly brought the town centre to life on a sunny weekend afternoon.

Organisers confirmed the public showcase was designed to raise awareness of the main concert and encourage local residents to support the historic Workington choir.
