Stagecoach says all its buses across the country are free for you on Remembrance Sunday, 8 November, and Armistice Day, Wednesday 11 November, and that includes Cumbria. It's all day on both days. Stagecoach says you're covered if you're: - serving, and in uniform or carrying your military ID card - a reservist in uniform - a cadet in uniform - a veteran wearing your medals, a veteran's badge or other recognised insignia
Simon Tramalloni, who leads Stagecoach's armed forces and veterans work, said: "We want to make it as easy as possible for our service people, past and present, to attend remembrance services and pay respect to those who served."
They already do free travel for forces folk on Armed Forces Day in June, and they got the Armed Forces Covenant Gold Award in 2024.
Remembrance Sunday is 8 November this year, the same day as the Workington parade, and there are services and parades in Whitehaven, Maryport, Cockermouth and plenty of villages too.
